Discernment

What is discernment? The dictionary describes it thus:
dis·cern·ment noun
1. the ability to judge well.
2. perception in the absence of judgment with a view to obtaining spiritual direction and understanding.

I have been on my Spiritual Path for about 50 years, learning and experiencing situations and events. During this Journey I have listened to numerous people tell about their own experiences. I have learned that there are many ways to hear, see and process information that is given to us by Spirit.

Since we are all different, our ways of processing this information differs. We Lightworkers are all heading the same way but like the branches of a tree, we grow in various directions. I have noticed that we can each be given similar dreams, visions or messages and then we may arrive at varying conclusions.

These situations cause me to ponder why there are such contrasting ideas and I have decided it is the way we process. Spirit gives us knowledge in the form of messages, a knowing perhaps, a dream or a vision. Sometimes this information pertains to the future, it is not intended to inform us of “tomorrow”.

The messages that arrive as visions can be in the form of symbols. Symbols are a tool used by Spirit to make us aware of a situation. We cannot always interpret the messages literally. This is a very important point and I wish to emphasize it.

I have discovered that we should all use discernment. Using our intuition, listening to our “inner voice” is the best way to separate fact from fiction, truth from fabrication. In that way we come from the heart not the mind – allow the heart to rule.

From time to time Spirit will test intuitive progress by giving us diverse scenarios and then our job is to use discernment to see through the smoke and mirrors and discover the truth. This is where our understanding, our ability to discriminate and see beyond the obvious, comes into play.

Another twist to this subject is to always respect another soul’s idea even if it conflicts with our own, we need to come from a place of non- judgement regarding another soul’s belief systems and the way they process information.

Lord Sananda ( Jesus ) gave me a brief message one day that I use in my own work and that is “Choose Love”. If we make a habit of choosing Love in any situation, judgement and disrespect cannot exist.
