Attaining Self Mastery

This morning as my busy mind began the usual “what ifs” and “whys”, I realized a few truths that I wish to share with you. Souls choose to have a lifetime here on Earth with joyous anticipation then occasionally a small number will lose their way, forgetting about The Divine and the Light. What happens to them, why do they stray from their plan?

It’s easy to choose love in situations when everything is going well, it’s a lot more difficult when pain and suffering are present. When people are hungry, homeless, abused, sick or impoverished, their focus is not on their connection to Spirit unless it’s to ask God to save them from their hardship or in some instances, they deny God. “There’s no God, why is this happening to me?” God, why are you doing this to me?” God is often blamed for suffering and this is a useless waste of energy because God gave each soul the gift of freewill, what we do with that freewill is up to us

We create our own reality (life) moment by moment, we create our own dramas using our free will by making each decision throughout our day. It’s easier to chide or attack another for our own misery than admit to ourselves that we are one who actually made the choice and after doing so, we often complain about it. WE are in charge of our lives, not God. Self-responsibility is once again put on hold and the onus is placed on someone else.

Yes, that is what I wish to prioritize, our own responsibility. Many large organizations take advantage of people because they can. They can because we allow it. Consider the big banks and the atrocious credit card charges they inflict on people. Countless individuals purchase things because they want them, not always because they need them. It’s very easy to “buy” ( charge ) an item if there is no cash involved, and worry about paying for it later. When the “later” arrives, it can cause a lot of stress, anxiety and family disagreements. The root cause is often over-indulgence. Our over-indulgence gives the banks the right to charge whatever they wish. This does not apply to everyone, I am speaking (writing ) generally, there are situations where credit is needed.

Pain and suffering can sometimes be caused by our own weaknesses such as addictions, drugs, alcohol and over-eating which can then lead to ill health, family separation, despair and hopelessness. Again, it is due to lack of personal power and restraint.

Religion has been used by the Dark forces for thousands of years as part of their control system. Organized religion teaches humanity that taking responsibility for our actions is not required, we have a savior by the name of Jesus Christ – that belief is a false teaching. Jesus was a great Being of Light, compassionate, loving, a healer and teacher. He can not and does not “save “ us from anything. WE are our own saviors. We were created as powerful beings of Light, the power lies within our hearts to rise up from the depths of degradation, suffering and abuse to reach for Spirit, make a heart connection and know that we are love and that we are a child of our Creator, a child of God/Goddess.  Once again, the masses believe in the “other-responsibility”, not “Self-responsibility.

We as humans enjoy our “comfort” zone and sometimes close our eyes to what is really happening on this planet simply because it can be very disturbing. We don’t wish to see it or believe it so we shut it out. Facing the truth about the injustice and abuse that is prevalent in our communities or the world can be unpleasant so it’s much easier to ignore the plight of others than actually do something about it. By ignoring it, we allow it.

My musings then led me to “acceptance of others” and how we sometimes view others as different in our multi-racial population. When we judge others by what they wear, how they speak, the cultural disparities that are evident, we create separation. Our unwillingness to accept others corrupts our connection to Spirit through the emotions of anger, fear, distrust and in some situations, the desire for vengeance and hatred. It’s less bothersome to blame others for being different ( as we see it ) and for not accepting the differences than it is to take responsibility and admit the truth of our own bigotry.

In various circles the Dark ones are said to be the perpetrators of the injustice and corruption that has been heaped upon humanity for thousands of years, for all the negativity that exists here, for humanity’s woes. This is true – however, we have allowed it. We allowed it because we treat each other the way the lost ones treat us – we have become them. They believe that energetically this gives them the right to continue with the abuse and injustice – and so they stay and oppress humanity. Their power is weakening but they are still able to create problems for us, although to a lesser degree than they once did.

In many instances humanity refuses to accept responsibility by blaming the government, the banks, the medical community, the teachers, the police, their neighbors – anyone but themselves. It truly is time that we as a collective took responsibility for our own lives.

We came to this planet voluntarily, no one forced us. We formulated our own life plan, we decided what lessons we wanted to learn and which Karma needed to be cleared. Occasionally we plan a challenging Journey for ourselves and during the course of experiencing those challenges, we play the victim and often blame others for our woes. When we understand and admit this, we begin to mature emotionally and spiritually.

Exactly what does the term “taking responsibility” mean? Does it mean being strong instead of weak? What is weakness? I believe weakness is allowing Ego to take control of life. Ego wants control. Ego is hurt feelings, ego is self pity. Strength is managing the ego, assuming responsibility for our own Self. The act of being able to manage the Ego is Self Mastery – Mastery of Self.

In closing this writing, I wish to provide you with this great Truth:

I and Only I

Am in Charge of

And Responsible for

My thoughts, Words, Deeds and Emotions

No One Else

It’s called

Self Mastery
